On October 20th the Council of Ministers adopted on a resolution and issued a regulation on the government programme "Studies for the Outstanding". The programme provides financial support for outstanding students who wish to study at the world’s best universities.
Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz met with representatives of academia. "We were satisfied with the government's budget proposals for the budget of science and higher education for 2016" - commented the President of CRASP, Prof. Wiesław Banyś.
Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz, Minister of Science and Higher Education Lena Kolarska-Bobińska and Minister of Finance Mateusz Szczurek met with representatives of the institutions representing the Polish academia (including the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland and the Polish Academy of Sciences).
4-year university funding cycle, more indefinite period contracts for scientists, the opportunity for students to have more influence over the course of their studies - these are some of the points of the higher education and science development program, presented by the Ministry of Science last Wednesday.
Foreigners will find it easier nostrify a diploma or continue their studies in Poland. Ministry of Science and Higher Education has announced that they published a regulation to that effect. The new law may also benefit refugees.
As previously announced, on Thursday the Ministry of Science and Higher Education published a new regulation on the recognition of higher education diplomas obtained abroad and on confirmation of higher education at a certain level.
