May 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Lodz University of Technology.

The Jubilee celebrations constitute a wonderful opportunity to present what a modern and prestigious higher education institution Lodz University of Technology has become. It is also a time conducive to profound reflection on the academic traditions and values that have shaped the image of our Alma Mater and of the city of Lodz as a science and academic center.

On 22 May 2015, the honorary degree of doctor honoris causa will be conferred upon Professor Arieh Warshel, a distinguished scientist and Nobel Laureate in Chemistry. Following, on 23 May, a special joint session of the Senates of public higher education institutions in Lodz with the participation of the Plenary Assembly of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) will be held.

The events of the jubilee of Lodz University of Technology are embedded in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Łódź Akademicka (Lodz- an academic city).
