The academic level of the University is indicated by the fact that almost every faculty has received category 1, the highest, in the official rankings of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Junior academics and doctors from the Jagiellonian annually receive over 10% of the prestigious grants awarded by the Foundation for Polish Science in recognition of the level of their scientific research.
