MAJORING IN GEOINFORMATICS

The geoinformatics as a new specialization is the answer for market expectations regarding education of specialists who will be able to connect geodesy knowledge with modern informatic technologies. The programme is addressed to students who are fluent in English language, wish to develope their knowledge and skills by taking part in interesting classes, examination projects and student mobility exchange under Erasmus programme or other international mobility programmes.
The emphasis is placed on the practical and professional skills which have an impact on interdisciplinary possibilities of use it. Step by step, students will gain skills and knowledge in geoinformatics field. Future graduate is prepared to make specialistic measure tasks, numeric description of geodesy measurement results (classical, satellite, remote sensing and fotogrametric), sourcing data for spatial information systems, make digital maps (basic, topographic and thematic), make projects and create spatial database, make spatial analysis and examination result visualisations using modern methods and technologies.
The curriculum gives the opportunity to take part in optional subjects which provides freedom in educational programme organisation. Each student has to prepare thesis.
Graduate can be employed in geodetic, geoinformatic companies as well as local government administration.
