The admission can be granted only to persons who have obtained a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, or an engineer's one or equivalent one in any faculty.

Form of examination: interview conducted in English. The following items will be assessed:

  • expert knowledge (based on a given issue)
  • English command (based on the presented certificate - TOEFL, AC, IELTS and the interview)

The admission will be determined by the ranking list drawn up on the basis of the results of an interview.

The candidate should have knowledge of such issues as for example: characteristics of commercial, political and social advertising; newspapers and magazines of opinion and their situation in the world, leaders, major trends and changes in the offer, the ways of promotion, new forms of advertising, etc.

Knowledge

After graduating, a student shall demonstrate the following knowledge:

  1. He has in-depth knowledge of the various groups, trends and cultural institutions, functioning in a democratic society
  2. He has an extended knowledge about the specifics of working as a photojournalist, photo editor, graphic designer and working in the studio and in the open air.
  3. He has an in-depth knowledge of the processes and phenomena occurring within the constantly interacting social groups in the psychological and communication dimension
  4. He has a firm knowledge of the scope and impact of mass media effects on particular groups of customers within broad (national and international) audiences, social, political, economic and cultural structures
  5. He has an extended knowledge of the principles of creating and editing video and audio.
  6. He has an in-depth knowledge of the various dimensions of interdisciplinary aspects of intercultural communication
  7. He has a knowledge of basic journalistic types used in the radio, television and in the press

Skills

The student has the following skills:

  1. He is able to independently prepare various current affairs programs (discussion, interview, roles and responsibilities distribution, recording, editing) and prepare various elements of television news, as well as to appear live
  2. He can independently apply all kinds of journalism in the radio, he can operate studio and mobile support equipment used in radio and operate appropriate computer programs used on the radio
  3. He is able to independently analyze any journalism material, demonstrating its advantages and disadvantages
  4. He is able to identify the most important problems of social, political, economic, and cultural structures and explain relationships occurring between identified subsystems of a social community

Competence

  1. He can lead the work in a team of journalists
  2. He understands the specific role and importance of television journalist, online radio reporter and photojournalist in a society
  3. He can independently detect manipulation of information, and he has extended knowledge to avoid the practice of violations of the press law and other regulations related to the work of a journalist
  4. He is able to play a leadership role in task groups dedicated to various projects of media nature
  5. He can put together the conflicting opinions, expose the advantages and disadvantages of multi-vectored arguments and the right, thus he is able to take adequate rational position
