Field of study: Chemistry
Specialization: Organic and Polymer Chemistry
Contemporary chemistry is mostly devoted to the synthesis and analysis of compounds, that are organic and organometallic. The main targets of synthesis are both the entirely new and the already known compounds. They are often drugs, the cropsaving specialties or perfume ingredients. They have applications as the materials for modern electronics and optics and they are as abundant as polymers. The molecular structure of all these substances is examined using often very sophisticated physical techniques. Different, specialized techniques and procedures are developed by analytical chemistry in order to analyze their presence and quantities in different media, including air, soil and food.
