MSc Horticulture, specialization: HORTICULTURAL PRODUCTION or GREEN AREAS SHAPING

The MSc. degree program in Horticulture, last for 1.5 years and provides students with the highest qualifications for jobs related to all areas of Horticulture. Upon completion, students become experts in either Production Horticultureor Landscape Horticulture. Through this program, students gain access to modern laboratories, workshops, libraries and research stations, all furnished with the latest equipment and facilities. Skills in orchard production can be mastered in a vineyard and a modern experimental orchard, while practicals for specialization in Landscape Horticulture are conducted on golf courses and soccer fields.

Studies in the field of horticulture enable a broadening of their knowledge of current trends in gardening sciences including: advances in plant breeding, biotechnology, management and economic issues and the rules of market functioning, etc. Students specializing in Production horticulture will familiarize themselves with innovative technologies in sustainable, integrated and organic production of vegetables, fruit, and gardening products, in accordance with consumers` demands. In Landscape Horticulture specialty students acquire knowledge and skills for planning the restoration of historical gardens and park establishments, performing basic geodetic measurements, and performing independent designing, as well as the establishment of green areas in the city, suburbs, open landscapes
